Recently bought this unit off of Ebay and have been tying for a week to get it to work. It seems to recognize satellites for maybe 30 seconds and then the satellite disappears. USB to Serial Driver seems to have loaded OK. Checked the COM Port (4 in this case) and that seems to be set up OK. If anyone else has this unit, would appreciate finding out what you did to make it work. I am using a laptop with Windows XP Pro installed. The installation disk that came with the Receiver contains a Diagnostic program that I am using.

Ambicom Gps Usb Driver
Not sure what to try next. Since I posted I was able to obtain a connection to 3 and sometimes 4 satellites using Diagnostic software. In the COM Port settings (COM Port 4 in my case) I changed the flow control setting to 'none'. I am not sure if this made any difference but I was able to connect after that change. I have also now located the site 'Aktronix' that is a supplier of the GM-307 Receiver and have downloaded an updated driver for the device but have not gotten round to installing it yet. It is one stormy night at my location tonight so will wait till the weather improves before I set up the Receiver again. Will let you know if the installtion of the new driver improves the performance.
